Celebrating 13 Years of Cassandane

Celebrating 13 Years of Cassandane

Nowruz, renewal, and a story of enduring love

This Nowruz, as we welcome the arrival of spring and a new year, we’re celebrating something deeply meaningful to us: the 13th anniversary of our Cassandane Collection.

Cassandane holds a special place in our hearts. Joy first designed it back in 2013 - years before Lionheart officially came to life. In many ways, it became the foundation of everything we’ve built since: a collection rooted in storytelling, symbolism, and the idea that jewelry can carry meaning across generations.

The inspiration behind Cassandane comes from ancient Persia and the love story between Queen Cassandane and Cyrus the Great.

What moved Joy most about their story wasn’t just its historical significance, it was its emotional depth. In a time when queens were rarely documented, Cassandane was remembered with reverence. When she passed, Cyrus ordered mourning across the empire, a powerful reflection of his love and respect for her.

That kind of devotion stayed with us.

We’ve always been drawn to stories that feel timeless, stories that remind us that love—whether romantic, familial, or personal—is one of the most powerful forces we carry with us.

Designing a symbol you can hold onto

When Joy created the first Cassandane piece, the intention was simple but meaningful: to create something you could wear every day, something that feels personal, and something that could be passed down.

The collection’s signature fluted medallion, framed with delicate beaded details, was inspired by ancient ornamentation and classical craftsmanship. Each detail is intentional, designed to echo the artistry of the past while feeling timeless in the present.

At its core, Cassandane represents three things we return to again and again:

Luck, Light, and Love

The heart motif is especially meaningful to us. It’s not just about romantic love - it’s about all the ways love shows up in our lives: friendships, family, self-love, and the quiet, everyday moments that shape who we are.

We’ve always believed that jewelry should live with you.

Cassandane pieces are meant to be worn often, held close, gifted with intention, and eventually passed down. Over time, they collect stories—your stories—which is what makes them truly special.

That idea of heirloom jewelry has guided us from the beginning: creating pieces that don’t just mark a moment, but carry meaning forward.

Reaching 13 years of Cassandane feels especially significant.

The number 13 is often seen as a symbol of transformation and good fortune—something that aligns beautifully with the spirit of Nowruz, a time of renewal and new beginnings.

Looking back, it’s incredible to see how one design has grown with us and with all of you who have made it part of your lives.

Moving into a new season

This Nowruz, we’re reflecting on everything Cassandane represents: renewal, devotion, and the enduring beauty of love.

More than anything, we’re grateful—to be able to create, to share these stories, and to see how each of you makes these pieces your own.

Here’s to a new season, new beginnings, and carrying a little more luck, light, and love into the year ahead.

With love,
Joy & Sarah
