The Lionheart Sisters

The Lionheart Sisters

How Our Name Found Us

Sometimes a name doesn’t arrive with fanfare. Sometimes it’s not chosen at all—it simply grows with you, quietly, patiently, until one day you realize it has been part of your story from the very beginning.

For us, Lionheart began long before we ever imagined creating anything together. It started in childhood, in the small and magical place where imagination lives wild and free. We spent our early years completely absorbed in the worlds of Astrid Lindgren, the beloved Swedish author whose stories have shaped so many Scandinavian childhoods. Most people know her through the iconic Pippi Longstocking—the bold, freckled girl who did everything her own way.

Lindgren wrote in a way that made courage feel accessible, even to children. Her stories were full of heart, adventure, and that unmistakable Scandinavian blend of tenderness and strength.

And then there was that book—the one that stayed with us long after the pages were closed:
The Brothers Lionheart.

A Story That Held Our Hearts

The Brothers Lionheart isn’t just a fantasy tale; it’s a story about devotion, loyalty, and the incredible power of a bond between siblings. It’s about standing together through uncertainty, choosing bravery even when life feels fragile, and believing in something bigger than fear.

As young girls, that story resonated deeply. We saw ourselves in the tenderness and strength between the brothers—the unwavering support, the shared bravery, the quiet reassurance that you’re never alone. Without realizing it, we started carrying the word Lionheart with us. We even called ourselves the “Sisters Lionheart” in our childhood games, not knowing that this small, playful moment would one day shape something much larger.

When a Childhood Name Becomes Something More

Years passed, but the name never faded. Instead, it softened, expanded, and grew alongside us. Lionheart became less about who we were as children and more about what we believed in:

A courage that shows up in many forms.
A boldness that is gentle but steady.
A bond—yes, between sisters—but also between people, communities, and stories.

Over time, we began to see Lionheart not just as a reflection of our memories, but as something that belonged to anyone who connected with its spirit. It became a symbol of inclusivity, of belonging, of the many ways courage can look and feel in different lives.

Lionheart became a reminder that bravery isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes it’s soft. Sometimes it’s simply choosing to show up as yourself.

Why This Story Matters to Us—And to You

Sharing the origin of our name isn’t just nostalgia; it’s an offering. It holds pieces of where we come from, yes, but it also opens the door to where we’re going—together.

Because Lionheart isn’t just our story anymore.
It’s not limited to two sisters or one childhood moment.

Lionheart is a space where many stories can belong.
A place that welcomes different backgrounds, identities, and journeys.
A heartbeat that reminds you that courage lives in you too.

Whether your bravery is loud or quiet, whether your boldness is playful or steady, whether your journey is smooth or winding—you are part of this Lionheart story simply by being here.

We’re still the Sisters Lionheart, in the most affectionate sense of the name. But the beauty of Lionheart today is that it has expanded far beyond us. It reaches outward—toward you, toward community, toward everyone walking through life with an inner strength that deserves to be seen.

Lionheart is a reminder of what connects us.
A symbol of courage, belonging, and the power of shared stories.

with love,

the Lionheart Sisters

Joy & Sarah.
